I have been a therapist for 13 years, raised 5 children, been married and divorced, and part of a blended family. I've been a teen parent and a parent of teens, and honestly, I went back to school to learn for myself. What I discover was confidence in becoming who I am. I learned I am 'normal,' failures and all, and what a relief! As a therapist, I understand the vulnerability and bravery involved in coming to therapy and I seek to make it as welcoming as possible.

I believe what people need most is love, safety, and acceptance. As a therapist, I have a unique opportunity to be that space. Therapists represent other relationships in communication and nurturing through modeling and interaction. Unlike real life relationships which deeply impacted both people, the therapist is outside the situation, feels less need for defense and can offer a nonjudgmental stance with empathy and compassion.

I am a person-centered therapist. I believe you are the expert on your life, so I open with what brings you to counseling and we go from there. We find what is working and not for you according to your values, beliefs, and priorities. I seek to help people become who they are proud of by building on strengths and identifying and removing roadblocks (unhelpful thinking, lacking boundaries, low self-esteem, trauma, fear, harmful relationships and behaviors, and so on.)
