The first session is about getting to know you, not fixing everything in one hour. We’ll start with what brought you to therapy and what you’re hoping might feel different in your life. I’ll ask questions to understand your history, current stressors, and what you’ve already tried. You don’t need to have everything figured out or know exactly what your “goals” are yet.
My focus is on creating a calm, respectful space where you can talk at your own pace. Together we’ll begin to clarify what’s going on beneath the surface and what kind of support would be most helpful. Over the next few sessions, we’ll shape goals that actually fit your life, whether that’s relief from anxiety, healing from trauma, improving relationships, or simply feeling more like yourself again.
You can expect me to be straightforward, compassionate, and collaborative. I won’t push you to share more than you’re ready to, and I’ll explain any approach or tool before we use it.
