Great to meet you!

There’s a reason the diets, rules, and “just try harder” advice haven’t worked — and it’s not your fault. I’m Terriee Smith, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor specializing in eating disorders, emotional eating, chronic dieting, and bariatric support. I help people create a healthier, more peaceful relationship with their body and with food. If you’ve been stuck in patterns that feel exhausting or confusing, you don’t have to navigate them alone.

In our work together, we’ll gently explore what’s driving your relationship with food—whether it’s stress, emotion, habit, or long‐standing patterns that no longer serve you. We’ll address disordered eating behaviors with compassion and clarity, never shame.

You’ll learn practical emotional‐management skills, build healthier coping strategies, and develop behaviors that support the life you want. Over time, you’ll feel more connected to your body, more confident in your choices, and more able to trust yourself.

My goal is to help you feel grounded, capable, and in control of your own story.

My approach to therapy

I offer multidimensional weight‐loss counseling that honors the full complexity of your experience. Together, we’ll look at the emotional, physical, and behavioral pieces of your journey so you can make changes that feel sustainable and aligned with who you are. My approach helps you understand the patterns driving your relationship with food and your body, while building skills that support confidence, clarity, and long‐term well‐being. Whether you’re preparing for bariatric surgery, adjusting after surgery, or simply working toward healthier choices, I’m here to guide you with compassion, structure, and practical support.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is a chance for you to feel seen, understood, and supported. You can expect a calm, welcoming space where we talk about what’s been challenging for you and what you hope to change. I’ll help you make sense of your relationship with food and your body, offering emotional insight and practical tools you can start using right away.

With my background in eating disorders and bariatric support, you’ll receive guidance from someone who understands the emotional weight of this journey—not just the behaviors. Whether you’re preparing for surgery, navigating recovery, or simply trying to make healthier choices, you’ll leave the session with clarity, direction, and a sense of relief that you don’t have to figure this out alone.
