Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m TJ, and I’ve been working in healthcare for over 20 years across a variety of settings. I have a Doctorate of Nursing Practice with a specialty as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

My background includes physical therapy, exercise physiology, nursing, and psychiatry, which gives me a unique, whole-person perspective on mental health care. I'm certified in Nutritional Psychiatry and a Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) prescriber through the LDN Research Trust.

I specialize in working with individuals who have complex medical and mental health needs, including Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS), histamine intolerance, autoimmune conditions, and other medical issues that may be impacting their mental well-being. I also have a strong interest in supporting neurodivergent clients, including those with Autism and ADHD.

Whether you're navigating multiple diagnoses or seeking support for one specific challenge, I’m here to help. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and personalized. Together, we’ll work to better understand your mental health, set meaningful goals, and move toward a higher quality of life.

My approach to therapy

In traditional medicine, we're taught, "When you hear hoofbeats, think horses, not zebras"—to look for the most likely diagnosis. But I specialize in finding the "zebras"—the often-overlooked conditions and complexities that may be contributing to your mental health struggles. I’m passionate about helping individuals who have felt unseen or dismissed in previous healthcare experiences.

As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, I embrace the holistic Nursing Model of Care, viewing each person as a whole being—mind, body, and spirit—not just a diagnosis. I don’t follow a “diagnose, treat, and discharge” model. Instead, I take time to understand your full story, uncover potential root causes, and explore individualized approaches to healing.

My practice is integrative, blending medication management with evidence-based strategies such as nutritional psychiatry, supplementation, exercise, and cognitive tools to support your overall well-being.

I strive to meet you where you are, honoring your current challenges, recognizing your strengths, and helping you set meaningful goals. I provide a compassionate, affirming, and collaborative space where you can feel safe, supported, and empowered to take steps toward healing and a better quality of life.

What you can expect from me

As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, my primary focus is on thoughtful, evidence-based medication management. However, I take an integrative approach—considering not only psychiatric symptoms, but also potential medical conditions that may be contributing to mental health challenges. Over the years, I’ve worked with many individuals who were misdiagnosed or overlooked, only to discover that underlying medical issues were at the root of their symptoms.

While I offer brief, solution-focused therapy when appropriate, my practice centers on thorough assessment, accurate diagnosis, and personalized treatment planning. Together, we’ll explore a range of tools—including medication, nutrition, lifestyle modifications, exercise, and referrals for therapy when needed—to support your overall well-being.

You can expect a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where your experiences are heard and respected. My goal is to work collaboratively with you to better understand what’s going on beneath the surface and help you move forward with clarity and confidence.
