Great to meet you!

As a clinician, I leverage my diverse cultural background to help clients establish a coherent sense of self and reconcile conflicting values. With my upbringing in South Korea, experience as an international student in Canada, and immigrant life in America, I possess a profound comprehension of the complexities of identity formation and the importance of cultural sensitivity in therapy. My life as a wife, parent of two children, and companion to two cats also offers a rich foundation for an empathic and compassionate understanding of family life, significant transitions, and the complexities of intimate relational bonds.

My approach to therapy

I have been privileged to work with individuals across a variety of backgrounds and life stages. My practice is passionately dedicated to supporting those navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship conflicts, adjustment to significant transitions, and identity exploration. I am committed to meeting you precisely where you are in your personal journey. My goal is to support you in accessing your inner resilience and wisdom and facilitate meaningful lasting change in your life. Through an empathic and deeply engaging guidance, we can collaboratively work toward self-discovery, a stronger sense of agency, profound healing, and sustainable growth.

My therapeutic approach is process-oriented, trauma-informed, acceptance-based psychotherapy. My work is mainly influenced by acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), trauma-informed sensorimotor psychotherapy, internal family systems therapy (IFS), attachment theory, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). I can conduct psychotherapy in Korean and English languages.

What you can expect from me

The first session is an intake interview, during which I will get to know you and your background. While it differs from regular therapy sessions, it will give you a sense of how I generally interact with clients. After this session, we can decide together whether we are a good fit to work together in therapy.
