Great to meet you!

First, congratulations on making it this far! Already, although it may not seem like much, you have taken a HUGE step toward improving your life. Starting a conversation with someone who will be kind, empathetic, non-judgmental, and specifically trained in ways to lessen anxiety and ease depression. In my instance, that includes a Bachelors degree in sociology, a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, specific trainings to help with anxiety, trauma, and with couples.

A bit about my approach to therapy

As a Marriage and family therapist, I am often focused on how symptoms and behaviors affect relationships and the internal system. This is reflected well Cognitive Behavior Therapy and in Internal Family Systems as we address unhealthy thinking patterns and beliefs that take the joys from our life. In addition, I often engage couples through the Emotion-focused Couples Therapy system developed by Sue Johnson.

What you can expect from our first session

I focus on supporting clients in achieving long-term success for themselves and in their relationships by helping them learn ways to cope, communicate, and challenge unhealthy thinking patterns. This often includes moving from internal shame or unhealthy thinking patterns toward self-acceptance.
