Great to meet you!

Twenty-three years of teaching English and Visual Art in both private and public schools enabled me to develop an ability to connect easily with others from a wide range of backgrounds, interests and age levels. I saw and experienced firsthand the awesome power of expressive arts to unlock inner voices and create/clarify meanings that helped students achieve hope and confidence. Feeling blessed daily by my students sharing of joys, fears and trials, I began realizing that many times their parents were also in need of support and guidance. So, returning to the university, I obtained a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology, and began practicing in Houston and Sugar Land,Texas for the past 8 years. I am now honored to open my own private practice offering virtual as well as face to face sessions to prospective clients 10-90 years of age.

When not in therapy sessions, I enjoy being with family, gardening, writing, painting, listening to good music, taking long walks with my husband and the practice of yoga.

My approach to therapy

Believing that everyone is uniue, solutions to daily stressors and/or various traumas will be different for each person. My goal is to assist clients find a balance between a healthy need for relationship and possible psychological, social or spiritual factors within a framework of personal responsibility. Meeting you where you are, we will collaboratively formulate a plan of hope and resilience for you. Knowing that art and music are powerful tools for therapy, I bring a love and understanding of these into my therapy office to offer unique blends of traditional Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and/or Gottman Couples Therapy, each with an Existential approach.

What you can expect from me

The first session will be primarily a "getting to know YOU" and what you can expect from therapy with me.
