Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Tesha Ward, LMHC (MA), LPC (CT). I have over 15 years of experience supporting children, teens, adults, and families, and I specialize in working with women, adolescents, and young adults navigating anxiety, stress, life transitions, relationships, and feeling overwhelmed by life’s demands. My style is warm, open-minded, and solution-oriented. I want therapy to feel comfortable, supportive, and tailored to you. I use approaches including mindfulness, DBT-informed strategies, and trauma-informed care to help clients build coping skills, gain insight, and create meaningful change. My goal is for you to leave sessions feeling heard, understood, and more confident moving forward.

My approach to therapy

I believe that meaningful change happens when people feel truly seen, heard, and accepted. Whether you're navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions, parenting concerns, school-related stress, or simply feeling stuck, therapy can provide a space to slow down, gain perspective, and move forward with greater confidence.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and strengths-based. Rather than focusing solely on problems, I help clients recognize their existing strengths while developing practical tools to manage challenges and create lasting change. I view therapy as a partnership—we work together to better understand patterns, build resilience, and identify strategies that fit your unique goals, values, and circumstances.

Drawing from my experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, and families, I understand that no two people experience life's challenges in the same way. I strive to create a welcoming, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel comfortable being themselves, exploring difficult emotions, and discovering new possibilities for growth.

My goal is for clients to leave therapy feeling empowered, more connected to themselves and others, and equipped with the insight and skills needed to navigate life's challenges with greater confidence and hope.

What you can expect from me

I believe everyone has a story worth understanding. Our first sessions are about getting to know you—not just the challenges that brought you to therapy, but your strengths, values, and goals as well. Together, we'll build a trusting relationship, identify what's most important to you, and create practical steps toward the life you want to live.
