Great to meet you!

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor and Army veteran with 11 years of military service and over 5 years of therapy practice. I work with adults and couples and have a particular interest in supporting Veterans, service members, military families, and people navigating trauma, anxiety, relationship concerns, anger, sleep difficulties, stress, and major life transitions.

My style is professional but relaxed. I believe therapy works best when you can be yourself, speak freely on difficult topics, laugh when something is actually funny, and still have room to work through the hard stuff. I try to make therapy feel like a meaningful conversation with direction, not an interrogation or a lecture.

I bring both clinical training and real-world experience into the room, and my goal is to help you better understand what’s happening, why certain patterns keep showing up, and navigate your world, your way.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, meaning I don’t dictate the one method works for every client. Instead, you and I work together to build an approach that makes sense for your personality, experiences, goals, and what you’re dealing with right now.

Depending on what you need, we may focus on changing unhelpful thought patterns, learning new ways to manage emotions, working through trauma, improving communication, understanding relationship patterns, building healthier habits, or simply slowing things down enough to make sense of what has been happening.

I may use strategies from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy for trauma, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and the Gottman Method for relationships, but I try to keep the language practical and easy to understand.

I’m also an active therapist. I’ll listen, but I’ll also ask questions, offer feedback, challenge you when it may be helpful, and help you connect some dots. We’re building this together.

What you can expect from me

The first session is really about getting to know each other and understanding what brought you to therapy. I’ll ask what's been going on, what you would like to change, important parts of your history, relationships, stressors, strengths, and what you've already tried.

You do not have to show up knowing exactly what to say. If your opening statement is a deer-in-the-headlights stare, then know I’m doing the same thing back until we figure it out. It is a perfectly workable start. I want the first session to give you a chance to get a feel for me and how I work. Therapy should feel like a good fit for both of us.

By the end of our first meeting, my goal is for us to understand better what you’re experiencing, what you would like to work toward, and what our next steps will look like. Most importantly, I want you to leave each session feeling heard, understood, and with a clear direction forward.
