Welcome! I am Theresa, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). I received a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I currently work full time as an LMHC and Community Wellness Specialist at a university on Long Island in New York. I am excited to work with Headway to provide therapeutic services in addition to my full time role.
With a heavy emphasis on cultural responsiveness, I serve my clients through a humanistic, person-centered lens. This means I work hard to learn about your personal experience in this world and to develop an effective therapeutic relationship between us. I use these two tools (our relationship and your life experience) to serve you as we work together toward your wellness and goals.
When working together, I aim to create a safe and validating space for you to explore. In this safe space, I will therapeutically challenge you to ensure that you are operating from a healthy and authentic personal reality.
