Society tells us that being a parent is a special gift. We’re supposed to love every minute of it, be nearly perfect, and never get impatient. That sounds ideal, but the truth is that parenting is hard. Being a kid is hard. Sometimes we need a little help. I believe parents and children can learn to have stronger connections, more fun together, and actually look forward to their time as a family. I specialize in working with kids, parents, and families as they learn to heal, communicate, and enjoy one another. I have advanced training in treating children with trauma and PTSD, and I understand how that affects everyday life. I offer techniques such as trauma-focused CBT, art, and play, adjusted to your family’s needs.
Through this meaningful work I’ve seen children learn to communicate more and argue less. I’ve seen parents able to happily bond with their children.
