Great to meet you!

I’m Theron Nystrom, a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with a Master of Social Work from Eastern Washington University. I work with clients navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem concerns, eating disorders, autism, grief and loss, and challenges related to life transitions and personal goals.

I believe therapy should be a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can be open about what you’re experiencing and feel supported as you work toward meaningful change. My style is open-minded, empowering, and focused on helping you better understand yourself, recognize your strengths, and move toward a more fulfilling life.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative and solution-oriented while recognizing that meaningful change often requires understanding what is beneath the surface. Together, we’ll explore patterns, experiences, thoughts, and emotions that may be contributing to current challenges while identifying practical ways to move forward.

I draw from evidence-based approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based techniques, guided imagery, breathwork, and behavioral interventions. I tailor therapy to each client rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, with the goal of helping you build insight, develop effective coping strategies, and feel more confident navigating challenges.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and understand what brings you to therapy. We’ll talk about the challenges you’re experiencing, what is most important to you, and what you hope to gain from our work together.

You can expect a welcoming, nonjudgmental conversation where you can share at your own pace. We’ll begin identifying your goals and strengths and discuss an approach that feels realistic and meaningful to you. My goal is for you to leave with a clearer sense of direction and what our work together can look like.
