Great to meet you!

My approach to psychotherapy and allied treatment approaches may be described as Client or Patient-Centered in the Rogerian method. This helps the individual to begin to take the role of the director of his/her life and resolving presenting issues. My life began in Scotland, UK and I spent years in Dublin, Ireland, and have been a U.S. citizen since 1993. I have traveled for extended periods of organized education to East Africa and Southeast Asia as well as mostly all European countries. This has given me exposure to a variety of cultures and traditions which is very helpful in treating and helping patients/clients.

I have an honors bachelor's degree in psychology and master's from the University of Dublin, Trinity College and a doctorate from the California Institute of Integral Studies with research at the University of California, San Francisco. In addition, I have been visiting professor at U. C. Berkeley, Stanford, and San Francisco State University. So, I have a lot of experience as a professor and have published a book and chapters in the Encyclopedia of Mental 2nd eand third editions. I have been in private practice for 15 years and enjoy my work very much. In addition, I am currently board certified in neurofeedback and biofeedback and use QEEG advanced equipment and software.

My approach to therapy

My approach is based on my training and is eclectic. The overall mode is Client-centered or Rogerian where the client is enabled to take control of what they believed was out of their control such as anxiety or many other issues, concerns, problems, and diagnoses. In addition, I am trained in psychoanalytic approach called psychodynamic therapy and I use Jungian methods also. Behavioral and interpersonal are also what I use.

What you can expect from me

They usually tell me that they feel comfortable with me as a professional, heard, not judged, and respected. In addition, they feel a good sense of fit and human interaction and engagement. They feel more positive and educated also.
