Great to meet you!
My approach to psychotherapy and allied treatment approaches may be described as Client or Patient-Centered in the Rogerian method. This helps the individual to begin to take the role of the director of his/her life and resolving presenting issues. My life began in Scotland, UK and I spent years in Dublin, Ireland, and have been a U.S. citizen since 1993. I have traveled for extended periods of organized education to East Africa and Southeast Asia as well as mostly all European countries. This has given me exposure to a variety of cultures and traditions which is very helpful in treating and helping patients/clients.
I have an honors bachelor's degree in psychology and master's from the University of Dublin, Trinity College and a doctorate from the California Institute of Integral Studies with research at the University of California, San Francisco. In addition, I have been visiting professor at U. C. Berkeley, Stanford, and San Francisco State University. So, I have a lot of experience as a professor and have published a book and chapters in the Encyclopedia of Mental 2nd eand third editions. I have been in private practice for 15 years and enjoy my work very much. In addition, I am currently board certified in neurofeedback and biofeedback and use QEEG advanced equipment and software.
