Great to meet you!

For the past 32 years I have helped clients work through troubling life situations. I have worked with a broad spectrum of clients from every walk of life. Throughout my career I have treated people struggling with a wide range of problems; depression, anxiety, marital difficulties, infidelity, loss of a job, domestic violence, PTSD or other life altering circumstances. Your past does NOT equal your future. Who you can become is not defined by who you have been, who you think you are now, or by what experiences that may have impacted your life to this point. My role is to challenge and empower you to transform your life, helping you to change your patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that may not work or don't support you to attain the personal growth you are committed to accomplishing.

My approach to therapy

I believe that reaching out to a therapist is an act of courage and I respect your decision. My style is supportive, relaxed, holistic, interactive, sometimes challenging, and person centered, using Cognitive Behavioral and Solution Focused modalities. I try to identify patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that do not support you or produce positive results and outcomes in your life. I work with each client to help them modify their negative thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, so that they can learn to extinguish unhealthy patterns. At the same time, I help clients to identify what has worked in their past. Once identified these positive thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that have led to healthy outcomes are then consistently reinforced, thus helping clients to reach their personal goals, stabilize their moods and decrease their disruptive symptoms. The new actions lead clients to feel better about themselves and their circumstances, empowering them to create better lives for themselves.

What you can expect from me

Expect our first session to feel welcoming, structured, and focused on getting to know you as a whole person — not just your symptoms or challenges. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, what you’re hoping will change, and any important life experiences or stressors that may be impacting you right now. I’ll ask questions to better understand your background, strengths, and goals, while also giving you space to share at your own pace.
