Great to meet you!

Therapy is a vulnerable, special place and a space for healing, insight, and growth. I hope that through your experience in therapy you'll develop an understanding of your own abilities and strengths and be able to move forward in your journey.

I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Sciences. I then went on to receive my Master's and Doctorate degree at Wheaton College in the chilly suburbs of Chicago. Through my studies, I developed a greater value and interest in understanding one's cultural experience and how it affects mental health and overall development. I also developed an interest in serving marginalized populations such as Asian Americans and the LGBTQ+ community. I also value providing a space for healing for those impacted by religious trauma.

My approach to therapy

I value creating a safe, warm space through a trauma-informed and multicultural lens to explore all parts of you such as your cultural context, overall development, and familial upbringing. Through understanding our own experiences and perception of how our environment and others impact us, we can then develop insight and move forward. Understanding our own thought patterns and how to experience emotions through developing coping skills or greater insight is also part of my approach to therapy.

What you can expect from me

Our first session would give us an opportunity to explore together your goals and needs for therapy. Through a safe, warm environment I would have the honor and privilege to understand your experience and identify possible directions that would contribute to your overall mental well-being and ability to not only cope but thrive.
