Great to meet you!

Hello! I am a psychologist with expertise in pediatric feeding disorders and Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder. I completed my undergraduate training at Purdue University before completing my doctoral training in school psychology at Illinois State University. I completed an internship at the Kennedy Krieger Institute, a part of John's Hopkin's School of Medicine, focusing on Pediatric Developmental Disabilities and Feeding issues before completing a post-doctoral placement specifically focused on feeding issues. I spent years at a local intensive feeding program before transitioning to a more academically-focused role. I have experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and individuals with anxiety. I also am comfortable and experienced working with neurodiverse children and adolescents.

I also enjoy working with parents to make changes to current routines to support lasting changes for the benefit of the whole family system.

My approach to therapy

I take a behavioral and exposure-based approach to treating most issues, with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as the foundations for my approach and delivery of therapy. I am also trained in and use Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) when working with parents directly.

What you can expect from me

Initial sessions will focus on information gathering and getting to know one another. This gives me a chance to better understand what your goals are and helps me determine what may be helpful in the coming weeks to make changes. If our work is focused on increasing the variety of new foods, it will be important to regularly prepare foods for appointments (which is typically discussed the session prior).
