I have experience in a wide range of employment settings including psychiatric hospitals, substance abuse treatment court, and traditional outpatient. I have aided in people’s recovery from mood disorders, psychosis, substance abuse, and trauma. Through out my career, I have prioritized treating each client with dignity and empathy to help connect every individual with heir unique blend of strengths and capabilities.
To guide recovery, I rely on my training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and eye movement desensitization therapy (EMDR). CBT encourages the use of different perspectives to regulate our emotions, and behaviors. EMDR can help put to rest past events that are resurfacing. Reconciling the past frees us to make new decisions in our present, and future.
On the first appointment, I will provide space for you to share your story, and tell me what led you to seek treatment. Later sessions, you and I will pinpoint current obstacles, develop alternative coping strategies, and utilize methods for breaking out of emotional gridlock. Lastly, we will explore how to deepen relationships, and set greater life goals. Taking the first step toward recovery is often the hardest. Please reach out with any questions.
