Great to meet you!

I work with adults who are carrying more than they let on — people who show up for everyone else and aren't quite sure how to show up for themselves. My clients come to me with anxiety that runs in the background of their lives, grief that doesn't fit neatly into a timeline, relationships that feel harder than they should, and transitions that have left them questioning who they are now. I'm a Black therapist, and I bring that fully into the room. For clients seeking a culturally affirming space — someone who gets the weight of navigating identity, community expectations, and mental health at the same time — I want you to know you don't have to explain yourself here. I work exclusively with adults 18 and older via telehealth across New Jersey. I accept Aetna, Cigna, and Carelon, and I keep sessions to 60 minutes so we can go deep without rushing. Healing isn't linear, and I'm not going to pretend it is — but I'll be with you through all of it.

My approach to therapy

I'm evidence-based, but I'm not rigid. Depending on what brings you to therapy, I pull from CBT, ACT, DBT-informed approaches, Solution-Focused Therapy, somatic awareness, and trauma-informed care. In practice, that means we'll work together to understand the patterns keeping you stuck, challenge the thoughts that aren't serving you, and build practical skills you can actually use between sessions. I believe insight alone isn't enough — knowing why you feel a certain way matters, but so does knowing what to do with that information. Our work will be both reflective and action-oriented. And while some sessions will be hard, some will also include humor, celebration, and moments of real lightness. That's the whole point.

What you can expect from me

Come as you are. Seriously — you don't need to have it figured out or know what to say. In our first session, we'll talk about what brought you here, what you've been carrying, and what you hope things look like on the other side. I'll ask questions, but I'll also listen — a lot. We'll go over what therapy with me looks like, including how I handle confidentiality and what you can expect from the process. By the end, we'll have a clearer picture of your goals and the beginning of a plan that fits your actual life, not a textbook version of it. Most clients leave feeling lighter than when they came in — not because anything is solved yet, but because they've finally said the thing out loud.
