Great to meet you!

I work with pre-teens, teens, and adults on mood and anxiety concerns, including OCD and trauma. I received my PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University at Buffalo, and then completed two postdoctoral fellowships focused on anxiety treatments at Medical University of South Carolina and Northwestern University. I have over 10 years of training and experience in delivering evidence-based CBT to adolescents and adults. Whenever I work with adolescents, I always incorporate parents.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I am primarily trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which is a form of CBT that helps individuals get "unstuck" from painful thoughts and feelings in order to live their life with meaning and purpose. I am also trained in Exposure/Response Prevention for OCD, and Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE), which is a parent-focused therapy that helps parents break free from the control their children's anxiety or mood problems have on the family.

What you can expect from our first session

I am a goal-focused therapist. I want to get to know you, what you want to accomplish in therapy, and collaborate with you on how to get you there. I take a strengths-based approach and want to learn who you are outside of your mental health concerns: what do you value, what matters to you, and what communities are you a part of? I tailor treatment based on what works best for you and your contexts while maintaining a commitment to evidence-based strategies for mental health improvement.
