Great to meet you!

Hi, my name is Tiffanie McDonald, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I earned my Master's degree from Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN, in 2018 and have been practicing in private practice, schools, and addiction clinics since then. I have been trained in EMDR, Restoration Therapy, CBT, and Prepare Enrich, and I specialize in supporting clients with anxiety, trauma, relationship/family conflict, life transitions, stress management, and grief.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and client-centered, with a strong emphasis on creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard and understood. I take an integrative and trauma-informed approach, drawing from evidence-based techniques and tailoring the therapeutic process to each client’s unique needs, experiences, and goals. I believe healing happens through a trusting therapeutic relationship grounded in empathy, authenticity, and compassion, while also helping clients build insight, resilience, and practical coping tools for everyday life. My goal is to support clients in processing challenges, increasing self-awareness, and creating meaningful, lasting change at a pace that feels comfortable and empowering for them.

What you can expect from me

During the first session, we’ll spend time getting to know each other and building a foundation for our work together. I know starting therapy can feel vulnerable, so I strive to create a space that feels comfortable, supportive, and welcoming from the very beginning. I’ll introduce myself, review intake paperwork and confidentiality, and answer any questions clients may have about the therapy process. We’ll also explore what brought them to therapy, their goals, and how I can best support them moving forward.
