Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with a career that began around 2008. I hold a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a Master of Social Work. My background includes supporting adults with developmental disabilities, counseling at-risk youth, and working in psychiatric residential treatment, crisis care, hospital case management, and forensic mental health. I have also served as Director of Services for a youth crisis residential program, a sheriff’s deputy, and a military police officer.

Currently, I serve as a Lead Therapist in inpatient psychiatry, providing assessments, individualized treatment planning, and therapeutic support for people experiencing acute and complex mental health concerns. I collaborate with the treatment team to support stabilization and continuity of care and take on leadership responsibilities as needed.

I also provide outpatient therapy to military members and their families, drawing on my own military experience. Across my work, I help clients build coping skills, strengthen daily functioning, and move toward meaningful goals. I offer telehealth sessions throughout Washington.

My approach to therapy

My clinical approach is compassionate, collaborative, solution-focused, and empowering. I provide a supportive space to explore your concerns while helping you recognize your strengths and identify practical steps toward meaningful change. I balance empathy with honest feedback and encourage you to take an active role in shaping your treatment.

Drawing on my experience in crisis care, inpatient psychiatry, and community mental health, I consider how your experiences, relationships, and current circumstances affect your well-being. Together, we may work on strengthening emotional regulation, developing coping skills, improving communication, and navigating responses to trauma and stress.

We will establish clear goals, build on what is already working, and regularly review your progress. My aim is to help you develop confidence in your ability to make decisions, manage challenges, and use the skills we practice beyond our sessions.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is an opportunity to get to know one another, discuss what brings you to therapy, and explore what you hope will be different in your life. I will ask about your current concerns, relevant history, and how these challenges affect your daily functioning and relationships. We will also talk about your strengths, available support, and what has helped you manage difficulties in the past.

I will explain confidentiality and its limits, answer your questions, and discuss what working together may look like. We will address any immediate concerns about your safety or well-being and identify additional support when needed.

You do not need to have everything figured out or share your entire history during our first meeting. We will move at a pace that allows you to participate comfortably. By the end of the session, we will begin identifying your priorities and practical next steps toward your goals. You will also have space to consider whether my approach feels like a good fit for you.
