I am a marriage and family therapist in Rhode Island specialized in couples counseling, anxiety disorders, and ADHD. I enjoy working with adults who are willing and ready to get connected with their innermost self and make meaningful changes.
My approach is interactive and present-centered. I believe that understanding a client's unique experiences, beliefs, values, and other key factors are essential in determining their needs. Often times, agents for change include clarifying values, increasing engagement with values-based actions, and identifying your relationship with thoughts, feelings, and physical sensations, and modifying their relationship so it moves them more towards their values.
Clients can expect to have a clearer understanding of who they are, who they want to be, and what is most important to them. I have found that clients who have had the most success from therapy have committing to applying skills outside of session and are willing to to try things that may be outside of their comfort zone. My hopes are that clients can embrace discomfort and engage in values based actions to ensure consistent progress that feels purposeful and meaningful.
