Great to meet you!

Finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming, especially if you’ve tried therapy before and felt like it didn’t quite click. My approach is active, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that healing happens when we learn new ways of thinking, behaving, and relating to our emotions—not just talking about them.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a trauma-informed lens, specializing in addiction, women’s issues, adolescents, anxiety, and depression. I also have experience supporting parents and individuals impacted by a loved one’s substance use, including navigating boundaries, codependency, burnout, and complicated emotions such as guilt, fear, and grief.

I strive to create a safe, supportive space where clients feel accepted, understood, and gently challenged to grow. Many clients tell me they appreciate that our work goes beyond listening alone—we focus on learning practical skills and applying them to real-life situations.

I also have a background in Christianity and am comfortable integrating faith and spirituality into therapy when desired by the client. I respect each person’s beliefs and values and approach spiritual topics with openness, curiosity, and sensitivity.

My approach to therapy

I am an interactive therapist who actively engages with clients throughout the therapeutic process. I draw from evidence-based modalities including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), with a special interest in mindfulness-based practices.

Our work may include:

  • Building emotional regulation and distress tolerance skills
  • Identifying and challenging unhelpful thought patterns
  • Learning boundary-setting and communication skills
  • Increasing self-compassion and values-based living
  • Developing healthier coping strategies and behaviors

I believe meaningful change happens when clients feel supported and empowered. Therapy is a collaborative process, and I work alongside you to help you better understand yourself and create lasting change.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, my goal is to help you feel comfortable, understood, and supported. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, what’s been challenging, and what you hope to gain—at a pace that feels right for you.

My approach is active and collaborative, so our work goes beyond simply talking. Together, we’ll begin identifying patterns in thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and you may learn a practical skill or tool you can start using right away.

I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space while also gently encouraging growth. If faith or spirituality is important to you, I’m happy to integrate that into our work when desired. By the end of the session, you’ll have a clearer sense of our focus moving forward and what therapy with me can look like.
