Great to meet you!

My name is Dr. Tim Huang, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker & Board-Approved Supervisor with a doctorate degree in Social Work from Tulane University. As a bilingual (English/Chinese Mandarin) and trauma-informed therapist, I strive to create a safe and welcoming space for clients to share their unique lived experiences, explore new insights, and learn positive coping skills to maximize psychosocial functioning.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I specialize in working with people who experience anxiety and depression, challenges in stress management, professional burnout, cross-cultural adaptation, grief and loss, self-growth, life transitions, and chronic illness. I am also a LGBTQIA+ affirming clinician. In the process of building this therapeutic alliance, we will work on developing individualized treatment goals and interventions using a variety of evidence-based psychotherapeutic modalities.

What you can expect from our first session

The initial session is the time for you to start to share your story, talk about your goals and what you would like to change.

All follow-up sessions will last 50 minutes, which is the standard length of a psychotherapy session.

In terms of treatment frequency, we will meet once a week to begin with. I find it’s important to gain some momentum in the beginning by meeting weekly or progress can stall out. Once some or all of your goals are met, meeting less often will make sense.
