Great to meet you!

A little about me: I earned my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in San Diego, California, and spent many years building my practice in San Luis Obispo. In 2024, I relocated to Florida to be closer to and help care for my aging parents.

My approach to therapy has always been person-centered, recognizing that every individual brings a unique set of experiences, strengths, and goals. I have extensive experience helping people navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, and other life challenges. My goal is to provide compassionate, evidence-based care that empowers clients to build resilience, gain insight, and create meaningful, lasting change.

My approach to therapy

With more than 20 years of clinical experience, my approach is centered on you—your goals, your strengths, and your unique life experiences. I believe therapy is most effective when it is collaborative, practical, and tailored to your individual needs.

My work primarily integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, and mindfulness principles influenced by Buddhist psychology. Together, these approaches help clients develop healthier ways of thinking, regulate emotions, strengthen relationships, and create lasting, meaningful change. I also have extensive training in trauma-informed care, allowing me to help clients safely process difficult experiences, build resilience, and move forward with greater confidence and emotional well-being.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, my goal is to get to know you and understand what brings you to therapy. We'll talk about your current concerns, relevant life experiences, your strengths, and what you hope to achieve through treatment. This is also an opportunity for you to ask questions, learn about my approach, and determine whether we're a good fit.

Together, we'll begin identifying your goals and develop an initial plan for moving forward. My aim is to create a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where you feel heard, respected, and comfortable sharing at your own pace. While meaningful change takes time, many clients leave the first session feeling relieved to have a clearer understanding of their challenges and a plan for addressing them.
