Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with more than 13 years of experience in the behavioral health field. I earned my Master of Social Work from Springfield College and have worked in outpatient, primary-care, and substance-use treatment settings. My experience includes individual counseling, clinical supervision, and leading cognitive behavioral therapy groups.

I work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, emotional dysregulation, relationship difficulties, substance-use concerns, and major life transitions. My approach is supportive, practical, and strengths-based. I incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy, DBT-informed skills, mindfulness, emotional identification, and healthy coping strategies based on each client’s individual needs and goals.

I understand that starting therapy can feel uncomfortable, especially when someone is accustomed to managing problems independently. My goal is to provide a relaxed, respectful, and nonjudgmental environment where clients can speak openly, identify what is getting in their way, and develop realistic strategies that can be used in everyday life.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, conversational, and focused on practical change. I believe clients are the experts on their own lives, and my role is to help them better understand their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships while developing strategies that support their individual goals.

I use a strengths-based approach and draw from cognitive behavioral therapy, DBT-informed skills, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, and solution-focused therapy. Sessions may include identifying patterns, improving communication, developing healthier coping skills, managing difficult emotions, and breaking larger concerns into realistic and manageable steps.

I strive to provide a relaxed, respectful, and nonjudgmental environment. I will listen and offer support, but I will also provide honest feedback and encourage clients to consider new perspectives. Therapy is tailored to each person rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach.

What you can expect from me

During the first session, I focus on creating a comfortable, respectful, and nonjudgmental environment where you can begin sharing what brought you to therapy. I typically complete a biopsychosocial assessment to gain a more complete understanding of your background, current concerns, family and relationship history, physical and mental health, personal strengths, and available supports.

The first session is also an opportunity for us to get to know one another and determine whether we are a good therapeutic fit. Together, we will identify your primary concerns and begin developing realistic goals for treatment. You do not need to have everything figured out before arriving; we will work together to determine what you would like to change and the steps that may help you move forward.
