Great to meet you!

I am a licensed professional counselor providing therapeutic services in Washington, DC. I have a Master of Art in counseling psychology and Doctor of Education in counseling psychology. I am passionate about supporting individuals by navigating challenges related to self-esteem, grief, loss, anxiety, stress, and trauma. I am especially committed to working with clients of color who struggle to maintain a healthy sense of self amid persistent feelings of inadequacy.

My approach to therapy

I work with adolescents and adults to explore the experiences that contribute to self-defeating thoughts, helping them develop healthier, more affirming relationships with themselves, their environments, and others. My approach is centered on building trust, fostering self-awareness, and helping clients feel empowered as they work toward emotional wellness, healthier relationships, and improved quality of life.

What you can expect from me

During the first visit, clients can expect:

  • A welcoming space to discuss the concerns, challenges, or goals that brought them to therapy.
  • An opportunity to talk about personal history, relationships, stressors, emotional experiences, and current symptoms.
  • Supportive and compassionate listening without judgment.
  • Questions that help me better understand the client’s needs, strengths, coping patterns, and desired outcomes.
  • A discussion about confidentiality, therapy expectations, and how the therapeutic process works.
  • Collaborative goal setting to identify what the client hopes to gain from counseling.
  • Exploration of coping skills, emotional wellness, and practical strategies that may support healing and personal growth.
  • A pace that respects the client’s comfort level, clients are never pressured to share more than they are ready to discuss.
