Great to meet you!

Psychotherapy saved my life. As a young man I carried wounds from my childhood that affected my relationship to myself, my relationships to others, my relationship to the world around me and the way I reacted to it. At times I felt deep despair and hopelessness. It took me several tries to find a therapist that was effective and that I felt I could work with. Experience mattered. It still does.

Through this, therapy also gave me my life. The one I wanted. One that felt worth living.

I have been a Gestalt therapist and business coach since 2008, providing therapy groups at The Institute of Living in Hartford and coaching in private businesses in Connecticut, New York and Massachusetts. My early career as an aerospace engineer taught me the value of creative problem solving. My business experience taught me the value of systems views when working with work groups but also with families. As a gestalt therapist and EMDR therapist and facilitator of Family constellation therapy, I see the complex interwoven nature of each client's past and help untangle the burdens we carry.

My approach to therapy

I believe that lasting change comes from understanding the root causes of the issues we face and addressing the ways they affect our daily lives.

My person-centered approach is rooted in an unshakable belief in each individual’s resilience and capacity for transformation, even when it feels out of reach. I don’t spend much time on surface-level problems, and I’m deeply skeptical of quick fixes. Real change is difficult. And meaningful, lasting change takes time.

Still, I believe therapy should carry a sense of urgency. We are here to reduce suffering, not just analyze it. The work matters and it matters now.

What you can expect from me

Mindfullness, presence and empathy. This didnt start with you. I will help you explore how your past is still present, how the mechanisms and protections you have developed to survive may be hindering your present relationships to others and yourself, and develop strategies to grow beyond your past to find and embody your authentic self.
