Great to meet you!

Helping People With Anxiety and Depression Discover Their Best Lives

It's my passion and privilege to help others overcome life-challenging situations.

Over decades of education and personal exploration, I've had the good fortune to put together some of the essential pieces in life's puzzle. As a clinical psychologist and writer, I bring a unique blend of science, art, philosophy, and personal experience to helping others.

I'm dedicated to helping people make sense of the sometimes confusing experiences that have shaped their lives. Our work will integrate your story's fragments into a healthy, cohesive whole, so you can get on with the adventure of discovering your best life.

My approach to therapy

Education is a central mission in my work. While I am an excellent listener and sometimes just nod my head, I am an active participant in treatment. I provide ongoing feedback about what I'm thinking and what might help. In addition, I regularly recommend books, podcasts, apps, and other materials that provide insights and information beyond what is shared in sessions.

That said, I know when to pipe down and give you space. I have a lot of ideas about how to help, but you are the ultimate authority on you. I encourage collaboration and open, ongoing feedback about our work. Throughout treatment, we will set achievable goals and work toward them together.

During our early sessions, I will work to gain a thorough understanding of your story, including influential figures in your life, both past and present. We are all profoundly affected by experiences that shape our understanding of ourselves and influence our worldview and wellness. Sometimes, exploring the past can be uncomfortable, but it gets easier with a trusted guide who takes things at your pace.

What you can expect from me

The needs of people living with anxiety and depression come in all shapes and sizes. As such, treatment is not a one size fits all approach. Patients usually come to me with an idea of what they would like their life to look like without the effects of their symptoms. However, they can get bogged down when they see how far that vision is from the reality of their current life. My work is to act as a bridge —helping you lay the stepping stones to cross that gap.
