Great to meet you!

My name is Tim Mendoza and I specialize in helping your child, adolescent and family cope with trauma, depression, anxiety, stress, grief and loss, and behavior concerns. I have over 12 years of experience working with children, adolescents and adults who have experienced various traumatic events, such as physical abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, community violence, domestic violence and divorce. I have also worked with victims of trafficking, violence, and undocumented immigrants. My recent practice has focused on improving parent-child relationships by using parent coaching sessions to decrease behavior problems and increase social skills and cooperation.

I am certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy(TFCBT) and Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). I have advanced training in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and Integrated Treatment for Complex Trauma (ITCT) in children and adolescents. I use a trauma-informed approach to empower you and your family.

My approach to therapy

Sessions will focus on your unique needs and together we will select the evidence-based approach that best fits with your goals. My approach is collaborative, relational and respectful. I will work to provide you the support you and your family need to heal.

What you can expect from me

While everyone is unique, I have found that my clients start to make measurable progress after our first four sessions together. My goal is to ensure that my clients have the tools they need to be their best and reach a point where they no longer need me. I strive to create a safe and comfortable environment where you can continue to grow.
