Great to meet you!

I have a doctorate in clinical mental health counseling and counselor education and supervision. My doctoral work focused on male survivors of childhood sexual abuse. I work with late teens and adult populations. The bulk of my clinical work focuses on men's mental health and well-being, obsessive and compulsive behaviors, and trauma informed care. I have over twenty years’ experience offering direct clinical services to late teens and adults in numerous outpatient settings. In addition to thousands of direct hours with clients, I have also spent the last two decades working as a state and national leader in the counseling profession, as an educator in masters and doctoral programs, as a mental health services administrator, and as a clinical supervisor.

My approach to therapy

I believe in prioritizing client well-being. Our working relationship will always start with forming a genuine, trusting foundation based on your lived experiences. After developing that relationship, our work will focus on defining what you think is helpful. My job will be to carefully listen to you and understand you. I’ll offer suggestions and feedback, but the direction, depth, and pace of therapy will always be up to you.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect to learn practical, useful tools that meet the goals they have for themselves. My experiences have taught me that every one of us is born with everything we need to change the things that concern us. I use authenticity, intuition, and compassion as primary tools to guide you the change you want for yourself. I harness scientifically supported methods for improving mental health and pursuing wellness.
