Great to meet you!

I pursued a Masters in Social work from NYU. For over 30 years now I have worked in Community Mental Health first as a bi-lingual therapist (Spanish) and then as a supervisor of therapists. Along the way I completed advanced training in Family Therapy and Analytically oriented Psychotherapy. I have also kept a private practice for the last 20 plus years. I am grateful to be in a career that brings me great satisfaction and meaning.

My approach to therapy

I am a supportive psychotherapist with an interpersonal orientation and an eclectic approach. What happens in treatment depends on the goals of each person and can include developing insight, facilitating improved relationships, reducing anxiety and depression with cognitive and behavioral techniques. I find the deeper the understanding of the area of difficulty, the more focussed and efficient the intervention.

What you can expect from me

After an initial session you may expect to have been treated with respect, fully heard, and offered some understanding of the difficulty and how to approach it. It is my role to adjust treatment to your goals and needs.
