Great to meet you!

Hello ,

My name is Tina Booth, and I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 20 years of experience in the mental health field. I have had the honor of working with individuals who are trying to navigate challenges related to chronic mental illness, psychotic disorders, mood disorders, substance abuse issues, and all of the life stressors that make it difficult to manage day to day tasks.

A little about my background:

  • I graduated with my Masters in Social Work in 2005 and became a licensed clinical social worker in 2012. I spent 10 years working as a Mental Health therapist on an Assertive Community Treatment team providing in-home therapy for adults diagnosed with serious mental illness and substance abuse issues.
  • I also worked at Veterans Affairs for 10 years with veterans diagnosed with chronic mental illness, PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, Suicidality, homelessness, and trauma.
  • In addition, I have worked closely with adults and seniors who are dealing with issues related to aging, loss of independence, and Depression as well as their caregivers who are trying to manage the stressors related to caregiver duties, grief, and burnout.

My experience has enabled me to formulate close working relationships with the individuals that I have been blessed to work with; therefore, I understand how impactful and important the therapeutic relationship is on positive outcomes. I have a deep appreciation for every person that I have worked with during my career. I can understand the challenges that individuals face when dealing with these issues and to also share in the joy that comes when an individual is able to overcome and manage these challenges.

My approach to therapy

I believe that everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect and that everyone has a story that makes them unique. I strive to create a warm inviting environment that enables an individual to feel safe and comfortable to share. I believe in taking a holistic approach to therapy. I am open-minded and will work as a partner with you through the therapy process. My focus is to help you to recognize your own strengths and to empower you to learn coping skills to manage symptoms to promote positive outcomes and a better quality of life.

What you can expect from me

During the first session, my goal is to get to know you. I will spend time gathering a history related to background information as well as current life issues. I will invite you to share openly about yourself and what you hope to achieve from therapy. I will also encourage you to share about any concerns that you have about therapy and what you feel that you need to feel safe and comfortable.
