Tina Carugno

Hi!! My name is Tina Carugno - Talbott and I have been working in the education and mental heath fields for the last 15 years. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), holding National Certified Counselor (NCC) status as well as a Professional School Counselor K-12.

I specialize in supporting children, teen and young adults in navigating emotional, social and behavioral challenges that may impact their well - being and academic success. The majority of my clinical work has been with individuals with neurodivergent needs, working from a trauma-informed perspective to create a safe and tailored therapeutic space.

With a compassionate and a culturally responsible approach, I partner with children, families and educators to address barriers of success across settings to creating safe and supportive environments.

I believe healing and growth begin with connection. A positive therapeutic relationship is the foundation of our work.I use evidence based therapeutic modalities, such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy and play-based interventions tailored to each person's age and developmental level.

We work to find the balance of accepting of ourselves where we are, while also identifying and addressing what we want to change, to build the life we want to be living.

Much of our work is done by drawing on connections between mood and relationships. I also emphasize trauma - informed care and social emotional learning/ psycho-education as integral parts of a holistic treatment.

Together we will identify and/or develop necessary boundaries in your life that inhibit you from being your best version. Through this work, my bluntness will invite growth while my positivity and humor encourages clients to embrace change with confidence. My role is that of a mirror to guide and challenge with support and celebration, as you meet the goals we set for progress. I got you.
