Great to meet you!

I’m a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with more than 10 years of nursing experience and extensive experience in both mental health and addiction treatment. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Austin Peay State University and my Master of Science in Nursing from the University of South Alabama.

Throughout my career, I have worked with individuals across a variety of settings, including outpatient psychiatry, inpatient care, crisis stabilization, and substance use treatment. I provide psychiatric evaluation and medication management for adults experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD and trauma-related symptoms, OCD, sleep concerns, and co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.

My approach is collaborative and individualized. I believe treatment should be a partnership, and I take the time to understand your symptoms, experiences, concerns, and goals before developing a treatment plan. I also believe in providing clear education about diagnoses and medications so you can make informed decisions and feel actively involved in your care.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is compassionate, collaborative, and individualized. I believe the best treatment begins with listening and understanding the whole person—not just a diagnosis or a list of symptoms. I want my clients to feel heard, respected, and comfortable discussing what is and isn’t working for them.

I use evidence-based psychiatric care while considering each person’s lifestyle, goals, medical history, and preferences. When medications are appropriate, I focus on finding the most effective option while minimizing side effects and avoiding unnecessary medications. I also believe education is an important part of treatment, so I take time to explain medication options, potential benefits and risks, and what to expect along the way.

I have a particular interest in treating anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD and trauma-related symptoms, OCD, sleep concerns, and co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. My goal is to create a supportive partnership where we can make thoughtful treatment decisions together and adjust the plan as your needs change.

What you can expect from me

During your first session, my priority is to create a comfortable, judgment-free environment where you can speak openly and feel heard. We’ll talk about what brought you to care, your current symptoms and concerns, past treatment experiences, medical and medication history, and what you hope to achieve with treatment.

Rather than focusing only on symptoms, I want to understand how you’re functioning day to day and how your mental health is affecting your relationships, work, sleep, and overall quality of life. Together, we’ll identify your priorities and develop a treatment plan that feels realistic and manageable.

By the end of the visit, my goal is for you to have a clearer understanding of your treatment options and next steps. If medication is appropriate, we’ll discuss the benefits, potential side effects, and alternatives so you can make an informed decision about your care. Treatment is a collaborative process, and your questions, preferences, and goals are always an important part of the plan.
