Great to meet you!

I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have been working in the mental health field and in medical outpatient settings for over nine years. I enjoy using ACT, MET, SFT, CBT, CPT, DBT, and EFT modalities. In 2015 I obtained my MSW in Clinical Social Work from VCU. I love my field and read many books and articles related to it. I grew up in Greensboro in a Greek family. In my free time, I can be found spending time with family and friends, playing music, and singing.

A bit about my approach to therapy

My approach is energetic, bubbly, caring, firm, relationship-oriented, and solution-focused. I believe everyone learns best in life when they are understood more, accepted, supported, and encouraged. I enjoy taking the time with what is truly needed in every situation regardless of one's circumstances.

What you can expect from our first session

During an intake assessment we meet and review everything that is of most concern to the individual, and then we would come up with a plan that fits their goals of objectives. Common goals for therapy include amelioration of trauma symptoms, reduction of suicidal thoughts (medication management may be needed), amelioration of self-harm symptoms, amelioration of symptomatology for various diagnoses including anxiety and depression, developing great self-care, having space in session to process grief, developing coping strategies to use, and obtaining accurate diagnosis to inform mental health treatment and/or formal supports.
