Tina Suarez

My name is Tina Marie Suarez. I hold a Master of Arts in Counseling focusing in Mental Health Counseling from Florida Gulf Coast University. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Certified Telehealth Practitioner, and National Certified Counselor.

I have worked with children, adults, and couples. I have worked in multiple settings from nonprofit organizations and residential settings to para-church and church-based settings. My passion is working one-on-one with adults in private practice.

My approach to working with clients starts with compassion in a nonjudgmental atmosphere. Helping you acknowledge your present, set realistic goals, holding you accountable toward meeting these goals, and watching you thrive are key.

My style is eclectic in nature. I work from a Solution-Focused Brief Therapy modality and incorporate Christian Counseling should you so desire. I also use Art Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Based Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.

We will, during our first session, discuss confidentiality and my expectations. The focus will be on gaining a thorough understanding of what brought you to counseling so we can set realistic goals towards healing. The change you seek comes from genuine honesty.

The ability for positive change is inside everyone if you’re willing to look and work for it. Know that there is hope, it does get better, and I can help you take those steps to a new life. I look forward to working with you!
