Great to meet you!

Genuine and welcoming is my approach for meeting people, but especially for folks working through their own unique challenges. Making even gentle changes takes effort and practice; no one wants to feel discouraged or stuck in a painful place, and I like to honor that wish to decrease distress and find greater contentment.

My approach to therapy

My approach is humanistic, client-centered, and framed by compassion. My focus is on fostering an open, supportive therapeutic environment that fosters curiosity, and encourages clients to try on new patterns of thinking and behavior. My aim is to work steadily alongside my clients to enhance both intra- and interpersonal skills.

What you can expect from me

I have significant clinical experience in trauma-focused care, informed by brain-based science and developmental theory. I also have extensive experience with ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) to assist clients in skillfully addressing trauma/PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief-loss response, and a wide range of difficult life transitions. In my practice I begin with a comprehensive assessment, with a focus on not just my client's background, struggles or challenges, but their strengths as well. I also recognize that for many of us talking about ourselves and our experience is not easy, and so I like to remind folks when they share...there's no way to do it wrong.
