Great to meet you!

As a board-certified licensed individual, marriage and family therapist who has been working in the Psychotherapy field for over 30 years, I feel I bring a lot toward helping my clients. My goal as a therapist is to first understand who my clients are as people, and then to help them move forward with discovering the best self they can be. I bring to the table not just my experience in the office, but also many years of training in depression, anxiety, and different levels of trauma and grief. At this point in my career my focus has narrowed to helping people who are experiencing those issues across many different platforms: Whether it be troubles at work, with your partner, or just in navigating the complexities of life.

Currently, I am accepting adults of all ages for individual therapy only.

My approach to therapy

I feel I have a very client centered approach to therapy. I try to truly listen and understand my clients from the perspective of where they are as people. My therapeutic approach will vary based on what my client needs. I tend to be very solution-focused, but also with an understanding that there are no cookie cutter answers in life. I feel we have to work together to develop the best plan for helping you get to where you want to be.

I am trained in a wide variety of therapeutic approaches including the use of cognitive behavioral and psycho dynamic orientations, and the use of EMDR therapy for trauma and anxiety. If you are looking for a particular therapeutic approach, let's talk about it! If I don't have that particular kind of training I will help to lead you to somebody who does.

What you can expect from me

In your initial visit with me, you can expect us to and to go over your rights as a client as well as the importance of confidentiality. From there we will talk about what brought you to therapy and discuss what you're hoping for and your goals. We will see if we make a good team towards reaching those goals. By the end of the initial visit I will talk to you about how I see our therapy sessions going, and discuss an initial outline for what therapy would look like moving forward. I like to keep my clients apprised along the way of where I see them and how I see therapy working for them. Don't be surprised if you leave with a lot to think about.
