Great to meet you!

I am Tony Gunn, a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I am also a Substance Abuse Professional and a board certified transgender care therapist. I value connection, trust, and respect.

I work with adults, teens, families, and couples. My focus areas include LGBTQIA+ clients, gender nonconforming clients, transgender care, sexual health concerns, trauma, grief, mood concerns, and major life transitions.

You receive care grounded in empathy, cultural awareness, and collaboration. Sessions center on clear goals, practical skills, and meaningful insight. I create a space where you feel heard, supported, and understood without judgment.

I provide services through in-person and telehealth settings. My approach blends evidence-based practice with care shaped around your needs, values, and lived experience. My goal centers on supporting clarity, stability, and long-term well-being through an affirming therapeutic relationship.

My approach to therapy

I am Tony Gunn, a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. I value openness, respect, and real connection. I believe strong therapy grows from trust, collaboration, and clear communication.

I earned a Master of Social Work and continue doctoral training in Clinical Sexology. My professional background includes community mental health, private practice, and clinical leadership. These roles shaped a structured, client-centered approach to care.

I work with adults, teens, couples, and families. My focus areas include LGBTQIA+ clients, gender nonconforming clients, sexual health concerns, trauma, grief, mood concerns, relationship stress, and major life transitions.

I use evidence-based methods tailored to your goals. These include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. Sessions focus on practical skills, emotional insight, and steady progress.

I provide services in person and through telehealth. My goal centers on helping you feel supported, understood, and equipped to move forward with clarity and stability.

What you can expect from me

In your first session with Tony, you should expect a calm, welcoming, and respectful space.

You will start with introductions and a review of confidentiality, consent, and therapy structure. You will discuss what brought you to therapy and what you want help with right now. You set the pace.

Tony will ask focused questions about your history, current stressors, strengths, and supports. The goal is understanding, not judgment. You do not need to share more than you feel ready to share.

You will work together to identify initial goals and priorities. Tony will explain how therapy works, what approaches he uses, and how sessions typically flow. You will have time to ask questions.

Before the session ends, you will review next steps. This includes goals for upcoming sessions, scheduling, and any follow-up tasks if appropriate.

You should leave feeling heard, respected, and clear about what comes next.
