Great to meet you!

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor. I'm so glad you're here looking at this page! I understand the decision to seek a therapist is not made lightly. I am ready to walk this healing journey with you facing head-on depression, anxiety, grief/loss, trauma, anger management, or just life stressors. I utilize trauma-informed and strength-based approaches to help clients achieve the mental health changes they are looking for.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is very much client-centered and always strength-based. I like to pull from a variety of treatment modalities to best meet my client's needs making my approach a bit eclectic in some ways. However, I do rely heavily on Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy CBT, and Solution-Focused strategies to move clients through the therapy process. I am a lifelong learner so I continue to learn new therapeutic methods to better serve my clients.

What you can expect from me

I see myself as a partner with my clients. After all, you are the expert of you. Goal setting must be a collaboration between the two of us. As I listen to your story I will ask what are the top 1-2 things you want to address first and we create a treatment plan from there. The goals will guide our time together in session making sure we work toward meeting them to accomplish your desired outcomes.

I exemplify a calm, accepting and safe demeanor making it easy for clients to open up to me. I listen to understand not just the words spoken but the emotions that come along with them. I want my clients to feel seen, heard and understood. Being non-judgmental is key to providing a safe space for clients to share their story. I keep things real in a respectful way as I challenge irrational, cognitive distortions or self-defeating thoughts. I also encourage laughter and foster a sense of hope.
