Great to meet you!

When I think about the human condition, I think about the context of our lived experiences and how that varies from day-to-day. I take into consideration how it can look differently for each of us for many reasons. I have been working with clients in various modalities (i.e., individual, couples, family, group. etc.) since 2006.

I'm here to walk alongside you as you navigate life's challenges, heal from the past, and move toward a future that feels more aligned with who you truly are. I bring both professional knowledge and real human understanding to our work together.

I believe in meeting you where you are, with compassion and without judgment. Life can be hard enough, you don't have to do it alone. I am humbled to come alongside you in your quest to thrive, not just survive.

My approach to therapy

I utilize an integrative approach, combining systems, narrative, and social justice theory as we navigate matters of concern across the lifespan. Historical and generational context shape our lived experiences in various ways. This is often revealed through culture, social, and inter/intrapersonal interactions.

Areas of clinical specialty include racial and gender identity development, crisis, trauma, abuse, couples, family, parenting issues, Christian counseling, depression, anxiety, LGBTQIA+, grief and loss, anger management, and career.

Some theoretical approaches are Social Justice Informed, Narrative, Trauma-Focused CBT, Psychodynamic, Person-Centered, Gestalt, Existential, Family Systems, and Solutions-Focused.

What you can expect from me

This is a space and time for us to begin the rapport building process in getting to know one another and start building a foundation of trust. During our first session, I'll ask some questions to better understand your concerns, your background, and what brought you to counseling. We'll talk about your goals and what you hope to gain from our work together.

This is also a time for you to ask questions, share as much or little as you feel comfortable, and get a sense of whether this is the right fit for you. We will also go over confidentiality and any policies that might be helpful to know.

Above all, my goal is to create a warm and respectful environment where you feel seen, heard, and supported. As a team, we can analyze what is going right in your life, look at strengths, and areas of needed growth. Together, we can create a plan to navigate forward movement.
