Great to meet you!

Hello, there! I am Tonya, I have a Master of Art Degree in Professional Counseling from Amberton University. For the last twenty plus years, I have had the privilege of working with children, adolescents, and adults in community mental health settings as a social worker. I am passionate about helping individuals struggling with feelings of inadequacy, difficulty with making everyday decisions or dealing with a loss, be it a person, career, marriage, or a traumatic event.

A bit about my approach to therapy

My desire is to create a safe, non-judgmental, and inviting space for clarity, hope, and healing. My approach to therapy is collaborative, strength-based, and eclectic, utilizing a variety of evidence-based practices tailored to the needs of each unique individual, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Trauma Focused-CBT, Mindfulness to name a few.

What you can expect from our first session

In our sessions together, I will meet you with compassion, empower you to trust yourself and we will work together to create an individualized action plan to achieve your desired goals, a sense of clarity, hope, and healing. Seeking therapy can be scary but you are taking the first step, so let's work together!
