Great to meet you!

I began my journey to become a professional counselor many years ago. I graduated from Lubbock Christian University with a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2018. As an intern, I worked primarily with adolescents and young adults. Since that time I have had opportunity to gain valuable experience as a member of a Mobile Crisis Outreach Team where I was able to work with individuals of all ages and all walks of life facing a variety of mental health and life challenges.

My approach to therapy

I believe that validation is key to creating a foundation from which to begin recovering from mental health challenges. If you do not feel validated, you will continue to suffer, often times in silence. I also believe in being my true authentic self with my clients in hopes that this will inspire them to do the same.

"The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction not a destination." - Carl Rogers, On Becoming a Person

What you can expect from me

My goal is for clients to finish each session feeling that their concerns have been heard and addressed and to develop an understanding of the needed skills to help them throughout life's many challenges. Many therapists have suffered through the challenges of the human condition when someone inspired us to help others.

“Our service will not be perceived as authentic unless it comes from a heart wounded by the suffering about which we speak.” -Henri J. M. Nouwen, The Wounded Healer
