Great to meet you!

Hello and welcome! I'm Tori, and I'm so excited you're here! I've been a therapist since 2020 when I graduated in the height of the pandemic from BGSU in Ohio. I specialize in trauma therapy and use a combination of CBT, EMDR, family systems, parts work, somatic therapy, therapeutic yoga practices, and more, depending on what feels most appropriate and fitting for each individual client I see. I have extensive training and experience working with complex forms of PTSD, primarily from childhood, religious, and relational traumas, Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, attachment wounds, and relationship issues in adulthood. If any of that resonates with you, please reach out! I'd love to work with you to better understand your symptoms and process through your experiences.

My approach to therapy

I provide a compassionate, warm, and inviting space for clients to feel comfortable and safe to explore difficult topics and emotions without fear or judgement. I believe that everyone is the master of their own story, and we are all fully able of making decisions to get us to where we would like to go. I value my own inner healing wisdom and do my best to honor and respect the inner healing wisdom of others. My therapeutic style generally involves meeting people where they are at by offering psychoeducation to foster greater insight development, holding space for big or uncomfortable emotions, and facilitating new actions and interventions to alleviate emotional pain that is often in the way of growth and change. I try to do all of this with some light-hearted fun and social connection mixed in, as well, as I believe community and play are important element on the path to self-actualization.

What you can expect from me

In our first session together, we'll discuss what makes you you, what your expectations are with therapy and goals you'd like to achieve, and how we can best use our time together to create steps towards those goals. If time permits, we may even be able to discuss some of these steps or objectives in more detail or save those conversations for our next follow up appointment.

Ooh wee! Now on the more clinical, less clerical side of things, you can expect a warm, inviting, and relaxing space, where ideally you feel comfortable and safe to discuss all of those things and more. I truly do my best to hold space for everyone I meet in an open-hearted, nonjudgmental way.

I'm always interested in learning about my client's previous therapy experiences and taking into consideration anything you're hoping to continue with or want to avoid completely (within reason of course).
