Great to meet you!

One of the most important things for my clients to know is that I strive to approach every person with compassion, curiosity, and respect. I believe meaningful growth happens when people feel safe enough to show up as they are without fear of judgment. Whether I am working with a young child, a teenager, an adult, or a family, my goal is to create a warm and supportive environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered.

I also take a culturally informed approach to therapy. I recognize that our identities, cultural backgrounds, family systems, communities, and lived experiences influence how we understand ourselves and how we move through the world. Rather than viewing challenges in isolation, I work collaboratively with clients to explore the many factors that shape their experiences and to identify strengths that can support growth and healing.

My approach is highly client-centered, meaning I work with clients to identify goals that feel meaningful and relevant to them. I believe therapy is most effective when it is collaborative, respectful, and tailored to the unique needs of each individual. Together, we build upon existing strengths, explore new perspectives, and create practical tools that support lasting change.

My approach to therapy

My counseling style is warm, collaborative, and compassion-centered. I often take a developmental approach to therapy, recognizing that our emotional experiences, coping strategies, and relationships evolve throughout different stages of life.

I integrate principles of contextual therapy into my work, helping clients explore how family systems, past experiences, relationships, and personal values shape their current lives. Together, we work toward understanding longstanding patterns while also building meaningful pathways toward growth, healing, and future success.

I believe therapy should honor both where you have been and where you hope to go.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is a unique experience in the counseling process because it is the only session quite like it. During this time, we will review and explore your intake information together, discuss what brings you to counseling, and begin creating a treatment plan tailored to your needs, goals, and strengths.

I often follow the lead of the client during this process. Some individuals prefer to begin by openly sharing their experiences, concerns, and reasons for seeking counseling, using the session as an opportunity for self-expression and connection. Others feel more comfortable engaging in a structured intake process with guided questions and conversation. Both approaches are welcome, and we will move at a pace that feels supportive and collaborative for you.

My goal during the first session is to create an environment where you feel heard, understood, and comfortable beginning the therapeutic process.
