Torri is a highly experienced Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor with over 25 years of clinical experience providing counseling and case management services to children and families. She has worked in various settings including community mental health, outpatient settings, residential treatment, crisis, juvenile detention, juvenile court services, and public schools.
In therapy for children and adolescents, the key to success is adapting techniques to the child’s developmental stage and emotional needs, as well as creating a strong rapport, and integrating parents when necessary. I use Solution-Focused and Cognitive Behavioral approaches to ensure that the child or adolescent builds on their strengths, develops coping skills and emotional resilience, while involving the caregivers in the process, which helps foster lasting therapeutic progress.
I am very energetic and engage my clients by actively listening and developing a genuine rapport and therapeutic relationship. Clients will develop a better understanding of their thoughts and feelings, new coping tools, as well as improved skills for interacting with others while in a safe space for expression.
