Tosha Johnson

Hello and thank you for allowing me to be a part of your healing and self care journey. My name is Tosha Johnson. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in GA and Ala. In addition, I am a Certified School Social Worker in the states of GA and Illinois. I have an MSW degree. I have 20+ years of experience working with adults, adolescents, & children in community mental health settings, school-based settings, corrections/forensics, 1st responder’s crisis counseling, & private practice counseling.

My approach includes being non-judgmental and compassionate to include meeting clients where they are & supporting them as they grow where they long to be. My techniques are connecting and empowering. I also use Person-Centered therapy approach to engage with clients & families. Additionally, I use a trauma informed approach. My trainings include Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), Structural Family Therapy, Trauma- Focused CBT, CBT, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Prolonged Exposure Therapy, DBT, Mindfulness, & Behavioral Activation Therapy.

In the therapeutic alliance journey with clients, it is important to create an atmosphere of support aligned with goals of growth and healing. Setting a warm and welcoming non-judgmental environment is important in having a healthy outcome and reaching the goals set forth by clients with therapeutic guidance.
