Great to meet you!
I’m Tossica, a dual ANCC board certified Nurse Practitioner in Family Health and Psychiatric Mental Health and I have spent the last nine years providing health care to underserved populations across New York State. I have worked with people facing complex medical conditions, serious mental illness, substance use challenges, trauma, and many other psychiatric conditions. In all of this, I have learned three valuable things about providing effective treatment: (1) it focuses on the “whole patient;” (2) it isn’t about fitting someone into a protocol or parameter but rather understanding who they are and what they need; and (3) none of this is possible without first establishing a trust relationship.
A little more background information about me, I have worked in settings ranging from community health, shelter based/homeless care as well as in home-based settings. I work with adults of all ages. So, whether you’re facing depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma, substance use challenges, or a combination of conditions, I’m here to help you understand what you’re experiencing and work toward a path forward that feels manageable and realistic. Beyond diagnoses like depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, or other complex psychiatric conditions, there is a person with a unique perspective, lived experiences, and hopes for their future. That is the person I’m most interested in understanding.
