Great to meet you!

I am a 23 year veteran of the US Army and the widow of an Army veteran. I am grateful daily to have been blessed to be mother to a teen girl who allows me to still be of service to my fellow man & woman through counseling. In my 57 years of life I have journeyed a great distance to be here earning a BA in English from Virginia State University in 1995 to an MA in Community Counseling in 2012. In that time I have had to be patient with myself and others in both the up and down times dealing personally with PTSD, Episodic Major Depressive Disorder and Anxiety. For me my faith has been my saving grace and now I endeavor to infuse hope, love and laughter into every contact made. I specialize in treating PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, Grief and giving vocational guidance. We are all fearfully and wonderfully made, sometimes we just need someone to come alongside us to remind us of it.

My approach to therapy

I approach therapy from a person-centered perspective. It is always my goal that the client feels seen and heard. There is no such thing as a one size fits all in therapy. That's why I allow you to tell me what you expect and need from our time together. To me therapy is a collaborative event.

What you can expect from me

My clients need not feel judged or ashamed. I have positive regard for all who cross my therapeutic path. All clients regardless of the situation will be affirmed and at the very least unburdened as all will have their say. After all isn't that what you are here for- to be seen, heard and reassured of the hope each living day holds. Please note that although I work with families, I do not see clients under the age of eighteen.
